Enjoyment – year 1 making fruit kebabs
Thu 28 Mar 2024The Year 1 children had a fabulous fun afternoon making fruit kebabs. There was a wonderful variety of colourful and tasty fruits. We especially enjoyed eating the delicious fruit kebabs at the end of the day!
A big thank you to the parent helpers who kindly gave up their afternoons to help!

Determination – year 4 showcase of learning
Thu 28 Mar 2024The children in year 4 had a fantastic Roman day this week, which culminated in them performing to their parents for their showcase of learning it was such a fantastic day and the children all loved performing in ensembles. They all learnt a Roman march and performed this to the parents too. The event ended with the children sharing their onagers that they made in class. A super way to end the Roman topic and a great way to share learning with the parents.

Collaboration – a message from the LBSA
Thu 28 Mar 2024The LBSA Beetle Drive raised £740 in just a few hours and was a wonderful night with an amazing host Al.
Feedback from a parent who attended, “Just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic beetle drive on Friday. It was awesome and brought back a lot of very happy childhood memories! Here’s to some more! Thank you and all of the LBSA"
Big Thank you to all the local businesses who donated prizes including a box and hospitality at Nottingham Forest donated by Penny Lane, a signed England Shirt vouchers for the Bottle Top, Bread and Lard, Lady Bay Pub, Lady Bay Fish and Chip Shop, Dough and Buns, the Poppy and Pint, Laurie Hastings and the Snail and Rabbit Tea Shop.

Enjoyment and Collaboration – Year 3 football festival
Thu 28 Mar 2024Well done to the year 3 girls who attended the football festival this week. The girls were shown the fundamentals of football and took part in different activities to practise the skills. Miss Hewitt said that the children all showed a fantastic attitude and there were some budding football stars in the making. Well done girls.

Enjoyment and Curiosity – Science shows
Thu 28 Mar 2024On Tuesday afternoon, the children had a fantastic science treat. Sublime Science came in to do a show related to time which was the Science week theme. They did lots of experiments related to time and some involved dry ice too. A superb, fun-filled afternoon.

Enjoyment and Curiosity – 1S trip to Wagamama
Thu 28 Mar 20241S visited Wagamama this week for their workshop. Like 1JH, the children learnt about the different foods that go into the dishes at the restaurant and also were able to taste lots of different ingredients. The spicy Japanese pickles got a mixed reaction from the children. They then had the opportunity to weigh out all the ingredients before tasting some delicious noodles. The staff and parent helpers were also allowed to eat something off the menu too. A lovely morning out and a fantastic opportunity to reinforce their learning in Design and Technology.

Enjoyment and Collaboration – Girls’ football
Thu 28 Mar 2024Well done to the year 5 and 6 girls this week. They
entered, and won, the Premier League Stars
Tournament. The winning team represents Notts
County at a regional event in June. On the day, a
few teams had dropped out so the girls ended up
with a longer match against Warren Primary
School, rather than several shorter games. The
team members all played excellently and won the
game 8-0. The girls are all very excited and looking
forward to representing Notts. They also had a
workshop from Notts County and a skills session. A
super morning and a fantastic effort from the girls. -
Enjoyment and Collaboration – Year 3 Indian Experience
Thu 28 Mar 2024It was great to see so many happy ,smiling year 3
children this week. We welcomed back Sunita who has
been coming to school for the past 10 years. Sunita
always delivers a fascinating enrichment day based
around Indian culture. The children talked about different
foods and learnt some Indian dances and tried on some
traditional clothes. A super day for all the children. -
Enjoyment and Reflection – Year 4 trip to the Mosque
Thu 28 Mar 2024The children in year 4 visited the Islamic Centre
this week to support their understanding of the way
Muslim people live and worship. The children
learnt about the 5 pillars of Islam, they saw where
people pray and asked and answered lots of
questions. They learnt about their holy book, the
Quran. It was a really interesting morning and the
information given was really child-friendly. -
Enjoyment and Reflection – Year 6 trip to the Gurdwara
Thu 28 Mar 2024The children in year 6 visited the
Gurdwara this week to support their
understanding of how Sikh people live
and worship. They learnt about how Sikh
people pray, what is important to Sikh
people and what they do within their
festivals.
