  • Determination – Year 4 yoga

    Wed 29 Jun 2022

It is always fantastic to see the rich variety of sports, dance and games covered during PE sessions. I am so pleased that our curriculum also offers the children the opportunity to learn some yoga too. It was great to pop in and see the children learning different yoga poses. Well done year 4, a really great effort and super attitudes during the session

  • Determination – Year 5 and 6 cricket festival

    Wed 29 Jun 2022

Well done to all the children who attended the cricket festival last week. It was supposed to be a year 5 and 6 festival but the year 6 children were on residential so we took some year 5, 4 and even a couple of year 3 children too. The boys were all excellent – they were a credit to the school and performed fantastically well too. A special mention for Laurence too who took 2 outstanding catches too. Well done all; a credit to Lady Bay.

  • Enjoyment and Enrichment – Sue Hendra visits school

    Wed 29 Jun 2022

What an amazing experience for the children in year 1 (and 2/3 too)! Sue Hendra visited Lady Bay Primary school to talk to the children about her books and what it is like to be a writer and illustrator. It was so fascinating to hear about the writing process and the children loved asking Sue questions. It was a fantastic day for all the children in lower school and Sue did a brilliant job in her afternoon session with the children in year 1, 2 and 3. It was great to see so many parents and children getting books signed at the end of the day too. What a fantastic day!

Amazing effort from the LBSA and thanks to all the parents involved.

  • Growing together – Year 6 residential

    Mon 20 Jun 2022

I was so pleased that I was able to drive up to see the children on the year 6 residential this week. Thanks to Ruby and Adia for giving me a guided tour of the dormitories. All the children and staff were in fantastic spirits and were having an amazing time. They were also blessed with such beautiful weather too. I arrived when they were doing the Leap Of Faith which meant I had the opportunity to have a go too. The year 6 children really are a fantastic year group who are going to be missed when they leave us in July!

  • Determination – Year 5 Quadkids sporting event

    Mon 20 Jun 2022

8 Year 5 children represented the school at the Quadkids last week. They each had to do a long jump, javelin, a sprint and a long-distance run – which they all achieved with huge amounts of resilience and determination…especially the long distance! 12 teams took part and I’m thrilled to say our team came third! Well done year 5

  • Determination – Emilia’s amazing effort

    Mon 20 Jun 2022

Well done to Emilia in year 6. Last weekend, Emilia entered her first Aquathlon event. Emilia had to swim 300 metres in open water and then run 3 kilometres. Emilia joined a triathlon club in November and this was her first event. Emilia showed amazing determination and came first place. Unbelievable effort!

  • Enjoyment – Year 3 trip to the Nottingham Open

    Fri 10 Jun 2022

The children in year 3 were offered the opportunity to visit the Nottingham Tennis Open this week. The children had tennis coaching sessions and also got to watch the tennis live. Lottie and Martha were also picked to meet some of the professionals and got to perform the coin toss and speak to interviewers live on TV. Well done to all the children as we also won the inter-school competition. What an experience!

  • Enjoyment and Enrichment – Year 5 Jason and the Argonauts Partake experience

    Fri 10 Jun 2022

Year 5 welcomed in Partake to deliver an Ancient Greece experience to the year group. Partake have been in lots of times before and always deliver an excellent, morning of activities. The children really become immersed in the subject matter and do lots of acting out parts and dressing up. A great way to reinforce their learning.

  • Enjoyment and Enrichment – Year 3 at Trent Bridge

    Fri 10 Jun 2022

What a week year 3 have had this week! The other half of the children, who did not attend the Tennis open, had the opportunity to go to the first day of the Test Match against New Zealand. Some of the children were selected to be the flag bearers when the players entered the pitch. All the children had the opportunity to play cricket on the field at lunch too. What a fantastic opportunity for our children!
