  • Curiosity – Year 2 Planetarium

    Mon 18 Sep 2023

We were so pleased to invite the planetarium back to school this week. It was great to see the children doing some pre-learning in class about the order of the planets. It was so lovely for them to then see them in the planetarium and to bring their learning to life. The children were really fascinated by all they saw in space and asked lots of questions. A really engaging and enriching way to start a topic.

  • Reflection and caring for each other – assembly this week

    Mon 18 Sep 2023

We were so please to invite Terry and Charlie back to school this week. Terry told the children about his adventures since the last time he had been in school He also told the children that Charlie had recently been very poorly due to an injury whilst playing at the park. This put Charlie out of action for quite some time and meant Terry had to spend quite a lot of time getting used to walking with a cane again. Terry shared again why it was so important people no or limited sight have the support of guide dogs. Terry also came back in to say thank you to all the children who were involved in the blind marathon held in the summer term. The children did and amazing job and raised £1380, which was an incredible effort. Terry shared how this money support the Guide Dogs. A really lovely start to the week and a tangible way the efforts of our children are helping others

  • Curiosity – Year 6 learning about the Mayans

    Thu 14 Sep 2023

It was great to see the year 6 children enjoying their hook for their topic on the Mayans. We try to start each until with something that will engage and capture the children’s imagination and make them want to learn more about the subject. The children in year 6 were learning how to play Pok-a-Tok. They were given a set of rules and had to create the game themselves albeit a little less gruesome than the game was in Mayan times.

  • Collaboration – New foundation starters

    Thu 14 Sep 2023

It has been great to welcome the foundation children in this week. They have begun their journey through Lady Bay Primary school and have done so with super attitudes and smiles on their faces. They have been getting to know each other and learning their new routines. I am sure they are all going to have a fantastic first year at school.
