  • Curiosity – Year 3 Mediterranean food tasting

    Mon 22 Jan 2024
To support the children’s understanding of the foods from the Mediterranean and to engage them further with their topics, the children in year 3 had a session of Mediterranean food tasting. It was a great way to bring the topic to life and it was so lovely to see so many children enjoying (well not all the foods) different foods from the Mediterranean. A super way to enrich the topic.
  • Determination and Collaboration – PE at Lady Bay

    Mon 22 Jan 2024
It has been incredibly cold this week but that hasn’t stopped our children doing their PE sessions. As a school, we prioritise PE and ensure that all children have 2 hours of PE per week. We also employ Mr. Steggles as a PE specialist to upskill the staff. It makes for fun-filled and engaging PE sessions.
  • Determination and Collaboration – Sports hall athletics

    Mon 22 Jan 2024

Well done to all the year 6 children who attended the sports hall athletics event this week. The event was a competitive event and the children took part in a range of activities. They all showed fantastic determination and worked collaboratively. All the year 6 children were a credit to the school and performed so well that they won their heat and go through to the next round. Well done Lady Bay.

  • Determination – School Council feedback

    Mon 22 Jan 2024
Thank you to all the school council members who met with Mrs. Beckett this week. The school council members are the elected children from each class who meet half termly to discuss any issues raised by children and next steps for the school. During this meeting, the children talked about what they felt would make break and lunch run more smoothly and what would enhance the provision outside.
  • Enrichment and Enjoyment – Art Day

    Fri 19 Jan 2024

I hadn't had chance to upload some of the amazing art work the children did during the Art day we did at the start of this half term. Each year group focused on a continent and the range of artists covered and the artistic skills on show were impressive. A super way to start the term.

  • Curiosity and Enjoyment – Year 5 trip to the Civil War Museum

    Fri 19 Jan 2024
The children in year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Civil War Museum this week. The children learnt about the causes of the Civil War and what life was life in Newark during a siege. The trip was really interactive and engaging and the children were a credit to the school. Another fantastic trip to the Civil War Museum.
  • Curiosity – Foundation launch their new topic

    Fri 19 Jan 2024
It was amazing to see the effort the children put in with their costumes for the start of the foundation topic on Aliens and Outer Space. Thank you to all the parents for supporting this. The children have also been making their own aliens too. They all looked great.
  • Curiosity and Enjoyment – Year 2 hook for their new English topic

    Fri 19 Jan 2024

It was great to see the children in year 2 engaged in drama this week. The year 2 staff launched their new English unit on the ‘Steadfast Tin Soldier’. The children acted out the story playing different roles. It was a great way to get them to be fully immersed in their work and I am sure they all have a super understanding of the book.
