  • Silent Disco for well-being and enjoyment

    As a reward for all their hard work and resilience during the school’s closure, the children have been treated to a Silent Disco with their bubbles. Depite it being ‘silent’ there was lots of singing along to the tunes and a few specialist moves being busted! It was great to see everyone back together and lots of smiling again. 

  • Enjoyment- Assemblies to celebrate National Poetry Day

    This week the children have enjoyed joining in with one of Michael Rosen’s poems and have listened to what has inspired him to write. Some of the children also shared some of their own poems which had been penned in school.

     

  • Respect - Lady Bay receives the Silver 'All Together' Award

    Well done to all the children and staff as we have been awarded the Silver 'All Together' award. Thank you to Mrs Beckett for all her hard work promoting Anti-Bullying and children's wellbeing. Great effort 
  • Respect - Comic Relief and National Downs Syndrome Day

    The children had a great time on Friday. They all came into school wearing red and learned lots about the work Comic Relief does to support children all over the world. The children also wore odd socks to raise awareness for World Downs Syndrome Day. We are trying to encourage our children to be global citizens and to understand issues faced by different people all over the world. We used our assemblies last week to raise awareness of Downs Syndrome. 
  • Curiosity and Determination - Year 2 D and T

    For their D and T project, the year 2 children have been designing a bridge to meet different specifications. The bridge had to be freestanding and had to hold a certain amount of weight. The children have loved doing this project and had to show great determination. Well done year 2 
  • Enjoyment - Year 3 football

    The children in year 3 have been showing their dribbling skills this week. They had to dribble to their partner who then tired to tackle them to get the ball. Great football skills year 3
  • Collaboration - Foundation number work

    It was super to see some collaborative learning in Foundation this week. The children worked together to play Dominoes reinforcing their understanding of number. Super work! 
  • Enjoyment and Determination - Year 1 PE

    Year 1 have been learning how to control a ball this week. They spent time learning how to bounce and catch, dribble carefully and move around in space. They really enjoyed this session and had to show great determination to learn a new skill. Awesome work year 1
  • Curiosity - Year 6 Science

    Year 6 have been working hard in science this week. They have been learning about the function of blood and its composition. They also created their own 'blood soup'. Super effort 
  • Determination - Year 5 Science

    Well done to Year 5 this week. They have been working hard using secondary sources to research about the planets. A fantastic effort creating these fact files.
