  • Determination – Girls’ and Boy’s football te

    Fri 28 Apr 2023

Firstly, a huge well done to the boys’ football team this week. We had our Large Schools Cup semi-final against West Bridgford Juniors. It was a really tough game but the boys came out on top winning 1-0. The winning goal came from a deflected shot from William and after some impressive defending, that was enough to win the game. The boys are in the final next Thursday, 5pm at Ruddington St Peters.

A massive well done to the girls this week too. On Saturday, the girls entered the Ruddington St Peters tournament. The all showed amazing determination and collaboration and reached the final. Unfortunately, they came up against a very good Tollerton side and lost 2-0. An amazing effort form all the girls and thank you to Mrs Hewitt for taking them.

The girls also had their quarter final cup match against Robert Miles Junior School. The girls played exceptionally well and won 11-0. They are all very excited for their semi-final on Tuesday and hopefully we can have an all Lady Bay final on Thursday.

A fantastic week of football for Lady Bay.

  • Curiosity and Enjoyment – Year 5 trip to Veolia

    Fri 28 Apr 2023

Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their trips to the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Mansfield this week.  This is where all the recyclable materials from our households are sorted into different types (plastics, cardboard, paper, metal) using these amazing machines.  Then they are put into bales and taken to be made into new products to start the whole recycling process again.  Who knew this could be so much fun!  An informative day where we got to put on our safety gear and look round the facility as well as spend time on activities in the Education room  We learnt so much.

  • Enjoyment and Enrichment – Foundation trip to Manor Farm.

    Fri 28 Apr 2023

The children in Foundation had a fabulous time on their trip to Manor Farm this week. They were able to pet different animals, see the owls, go on a dinosaur trail and even play in the soft play too. Thank you to the children for their amazing behaviour, the staff for organising the trip and the parents who were able to support the trip too.

  • Reflection and Enjoyment– Assembly this week

    Fri 28 Apr 2023

This week, we focussed on the value of Enjoyment and talked to the children about International Dance Day which is on Saturday. Vanessa talked to the children about the health benefits of dance and how it can make you feel. Vanessa also shared all the groups that she runs and how the children can get involved if they wish to. Vanessa asked children from year 2-6 to perform to their peers which was so lovely to see. Good luck to the year 6 children who are on stage at the concert hall this week in a dance troop. Sounds really exciting.

  • Collaboration and Enjoyment – Year 4 residential to Caythorpe

    Fri 28 Apr 2023

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the year 4 residential this week. The children were all having the most amazing time. The children took part in raft building (and most of them got very wet), the zip wire, archery, problem solving, orienteering and lots more fun and games. They all sang around the camp fire and were given some time with their friends to play too. It was so great to see so many happy and smiling faces on the trip and I know they all had a fantastic time. I think there will be lots of tired children this weekend. Thank you to all the children for their participation, the staff for giving up their time to take the children and the parents for allowing their children to attend.

  • Curiosity – Foundation planting flowers

    Fri 28 Apr 2023

It was great to go to foundation this week to see so many children excited about planting their flowers this week. All the children planted their own pansy and will look at how it grows over the next few weeks and months. A fantastic way to start of their new unit of work
