  • Caring for the Environment – Eco Committee

    Thu 21 Jul 2022

Thank you to everyone who entered the Eco Code poster competition.  Favourites were chosen by the Eco committee and School Council at their end-of-year tea party.  Here are some of the lovely entries and the new Eco Code for our school will be ready for September.  Well done Lady Bay!

Now the weather is getting hotter, our Year 4 Eco rep would like to share some water saving tips with you.

    1. Take shorter showers.  You could cut one minute off your shower time to save energy and water.

    2. Turn the tap OFF while you brush your teeth because a running tap uses six litres of water every minute.

    3. Get a water butt to collect rain water for your plants at home.  They will love it.

  • Determination - Speed Stacking

    Fri 15 Jul 2022

What a fantastic week we had during Wellness Week. The children loved all the different activities and none more so than the speed stacking. They loved trying to see how fast they could do the 9 cups. Amazing fun and we are looking forward to offering an after school club for this next year.

  • All our values – Sports day

    Fri 15 Jul 2022

I love sports day and what a glorious day to have it on. It is such a fantastic way to get all children being active and having fun. A huge well done to the year 6 children who once again ran the events on the day. It was clear to see that parents and children alike had a lovely time.

  • Enjoyment – before school wellness activities

    Fri 15 Jul 2022

It was so fantastic to see so many children come early this week for the wellness activities. We had a range of active games on Monday, long rope skipping on Tuesday, a flash mob dance on Wednesday, singing on Thursday and a penalty shootout and crossbar challenge on Friday. What an awesome way to start each day and thanks for those parents who sent in such positive feedback too.

  • Caring for each other -Drumbathon for Footprints

    Fri 15 Jul 2022

The Drumbathon was amazing. Every child I spoke to had the most amazing time (so did the staff and I). We all loved taking part in the activity and it was a great way to get the heart racing and use lots of different muscle groups. We were so impressed that we are looking into getting a set for school too. Please remember, if your child has enjoyed this week, the link is below to support our partner charity Footprints. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/Ladybaydrumbathon

  • Reflection – assembly from an Olympic athlete

    Fri 15 Jul 2022

It was fantastic to welcome Sam Oldham into school this week to talk to the children about being a gymnast. He lives locally and is an ex-Olympic gymnast, winning an Olympic medal at London 2012. He described his journey to being a gymnast and all the sacrifices he made as a child. He also talked to the children about the importance of determination and resilience. An inspiring assembly and one the children thoroughly enjoyed.

  • Citizenship- Fundraising for the Ukraine

    Tue 05 Jul 2022

Elze designed and created some amazing stickers. She sold these after school in order to raise money for the Ukraine. An amazing effort Elze, we can’t wait to see the different designs on everyone’s water bottles!
