Guide Dogs for the Blind

Terry has been a friend of Lady Bay School since 2015. We first met him with his previous guide dog, Emmett and the children loved learning all about Emmett's duties. Terry has taken numerous assemblies and has raised awareness of what life is like for blind people. Terry lost his sight due to a head injury playing football when he was younger.

Since Emmett retired in 2018, Terry has been bringing in his new guide dog Charlie to see the children. Terry and Charlie live locally, but they travel around the country as Ambassadors for the Guide Dog Charity. Terry always encourages the children to come and say hello when he is out and about in West Bridgford, and the children understand that they mustn't distract Charlie when he has his working harness on.

The children are involved in annual fundraising for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
