Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

Our teachers are Mrs Sture and Mrs Williams.

 

Over the course of the year, this page will be updated with information about what we are learning, useful links, important documents and photographs.

Academic Year 2023-2024

We will add any important information regarding the curriculum, as well as photos that may have been taken of trips or visits happening during the school day.

 

The children thoroughly enjoyed their Pirate Day at Beaumanor. They did lots of fun activities and enjoyed learning about pirates.

Spring 2

P.E this half term is on Mondays and Fridays.

 

Dates to be aware of...

7th March--> Day trip to Beaumanor.

Week of the 11th of March--> Science week.

Thursday 21st March and Tuesday 26th March--> parents evening.

The children, as part of their Pirate topic, have been designing pirate portraits with pirate names. Don't they look fabulous.

The children explored victorian artefacts that would have been found in peoples homes. THey guessed what they could have been called and what they may have been used for.

Information to remember for Spring 1

P.E is on Monday afternoons and Friday mornings.

Safer Internet day 30th of January 2024.

Dates to remember for Autumn 2

2W to Library in West Bridgford on 22nd November.

2S to Library in West Bridgford on 23rd November.

 

11th and 12th December -- Christmas production All Hallows Church. 2pm both days.

 

13th December -- Trip to Pantomime at Nottingham Playhouse.

 

The children worked in pairs to build Aerodynamic Rockets. They used recycled materials from home. They all did really well.

The children enjoyed the last of the October sunshine by drawing some fabulous space pictures with chalk on the playground.

We are following the White Rose Maths long term plan, and use their workbooks and materials as the basis of our maths teaching and learning.  A more detailed breakdown of what your child will be learning is available in the maths curriculum page, alongside more useful parent links

Home Learning

If your child (or their class / whole year group) needs to self-isolate for 2 weeks, our remote learning resources will be available by clicking on the rainbow below. Please share photographs of your child's completed work with us daily via Seesaw so we can monitor their learning and progress. You can login to Seesaw on a computer or by using the Seesaw app which is available to download on any tablet device.
