Reflection - Fairtrade Fortnight
Wed 26 Feb 2020During Fairtrade fortnight, the children had a very informative assembly from a representative from the Coop. The children learnt lots about Fairtrade and what it truly means to ensure someone receives the money they should for the crop they produce. They focussed in on bananas and the journey they take reaching our shelves. It was a great way to reflect on the little that some farmers earn around the world and how some organisations are trying to support them in sustain their businesses.

Collaboration and Curiosity - Maths in year 1
Fri 14 Feb 2020The year 1 children were working collaboratively and exploring different ways to represent a number. They did this using a variety of resources.
An excellent effort and a great way to reinforce their conceptual understanding of number.

Enjoyment and Collaboration - Dragon House afternoon
Wed 12 Feb 2020The children across the school had a superb afternoon. They went into their Dragon Houses and had lots of fun taking part in a variety of activities. Adbolton were the winning house and they had a disco. Trent, Seymour, Rutland and Pierrepont enjoyed making valentines cards, playing board games, creating their own flag and making the tallest towers. It was so lovely to see how collaboratively our children worked and especially how well our older children supported our younger children.

Proposed new site for Lady Bay Primary School
Wed 05 Feb 2020‘NCC advises us that on 12th February a report will go to its Policy Committee asking for approval for the identification of a suitable site on which a relocated and enlarged Lady Bay Primary could be built. The report will contain some detail about this, and will be publicly available on the NCC website from early next week’. We were asked by NCC to share the above statement with parents on 12th February 2020. In the light of recent press reports, we are sharing it with you now, with NCC's agreement. -
Reflection - amazing science
Tue 04 Feb 2020The children in year 3 and 5 carried out some fascinating science this afternoon. Yeah 3 were learning about the human skeleton and reflecting on the way bones change as we grow. Yeah 5 were creating their own sherbet and looking at what changes happened when you mix vinegar and milk. -
DfE Coronavirus Advice for Parents/guardians

There is no reason why your children should not continue to attend their early years, school or further education setting as normal.
