Collaboration -Footprints thank you for raising £3590
Wed 26 May 2021This week, representatives from Footprints charity came to thank the children for raising £3590 for them and also spoke to the children about how the money may be spent to help children in the future.

Determination - Lady Bay awarded the Primary Quality Science Mark
Mon 24 May 2021Well done to all the teachers and particularly Mrs. Wilson for all her hard work collecting evidence to obtain the Quality Science Mark. It is great to have external validation that our curriculum is planned and taught to a high standard. Well done everyone!

Enjoyment - Gareth Baker, our Patron of Reading, came to visit
Mon 24 May 2021It was great to see Gareth back in school and inspiring our children to have a love of books. The children in year 4 loved listening to Gareth talk about all his amazing artefacts and then loved putting them together to create their won story. A really engaging activity.

Respect - Elsie's selfless act
Fri 14 May 2021We have some of the most amazing, selfless children at Lady Bay. Elsie decided a long time ago to grow her hair for the Little Princess Trust. It had grown to the required length so she decided to have the 'chop'. Elsie's hair is currently on the way to the charity and will be given to a child who is suffering form childhood cancer and has lost their hair. Truly amazing Elsie

Respect and Collaboration - Footprints challenge
Fri 14 May 2021Wow - What an amazing effort by all the super Lady Bay children. So far, we have collected 7864 miles taking the school all the way to Papa New Guinea. The children have been busily collecting sponsorship money and we have raised nearly £2000 so far. What an incredible effort for such an amazing charity close to our school.

Reflection - Local History Month
Fri 14 May 2021We talked to the children are Local History month in assembly this week. They were fascinated about the changes in Lady Bay from over 100 years ago to present day. They asked lots of questions and were particularly interested in this photo of children working in 3H from the 1940s.

Reflection - Ramadan and Eid
Fri 07 May 2021We used our assemblies this week to talk to the children about Ramadan and Eid. Nazma, who works in year 1 and is a midday supervisor, told the children lots of information about what happens during Ramadan, how Muslims celebrate Eid and about the 5 Pillars of Islam. The children were really interested and asked lots of questions.

Determination - Fantastic Foundation writing
Fri 07 May 2021The children in Foundation have been learning about different animals. Their independent writing task this week was to write factual sentences about different animals. There were lots of examples of amazing writing. I wanted to say a special well done to Buddy for this full page of writing - awesome effort

Respect, Reflection and Enjoyment. Ramadan and Eid
Wed 05 May 2021In assemblies this week, children have been hearing about the religious observance of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid. Children listened to our teaching assistant Nazma sharing her experiences of Ramadan and our children also got to share their experiences and reflections.
We wish all our staff and families celebrating next week a very happy Eid - Eid Mubarak!
