  • Curiosity - Alan McDonald visit

    Thu 16 Nov 2023

We were delighted to welcome Alan McDonald back in to school. Alan is an author and our Patron of Reading. He did some workshops with 3 year groups in school and also delivered and assembly. It is our aim for Alan to work every child in school across the school year to inspire them to read and write. A lovely morning and a great way to start the term.

  • Reflection and Respect – assembly this week

    Thu 16 Nov 2023

The focus of assemblies this week was to introduce the Jigsaw topic this half term ‘Celebrating Differences’. We talked to the children what makes them special and unique. We also looked at different animals and what was amazing about them. We then explored the term tolerance and what it meant to the children. We discussed how we need to ensure we are accepting of all people from all backgrounds and what this looks like at school. A really interesting and informative assembly.

We also spent time talking to the children about Remembrance Day and why it is an important day. We discussed why the poppy was the symbol for the day and that people are even now still giving their life to ensure we remain safe. It was great that all the children were very respectful during our 2-minute silence too.
