  • Enjoyment and Collaboration - Year 5/6 football festival

    Fri 07 Oct 2022

Well done to the year 5 and 6 children who attended the football festival this week. The children worked on their dribbling and shooting skills before playing mini-matches. Mrs Davie said they were a credit to the school and all worked so well together. Well don’t to Riley and Lorna too who both scored goals and were very proud.

  • Determination and Collaboration – Boys’ cup match

    Fri 07 Oct 2022

What a team! We played Abbey Road in the Large School cup this week and the boys were fantastic. We beat them 6-1 with goals from Ben (2), Patrick (2), William (1) and Ruben (1). Both Micah and George were excellent in goal and our defensive trio (Seth, James and Ben) were all outstanding. Sam ran the midfield for the whole game too and was an excellent captain. Looking forward to the next round.

  • Reflection – assembly this week

    Fri 07 Oct 2022

We used our assembly time this week to show the children an assembly from the NSPCC. The children were told what the NSPCC do, what Childline is and the number children can ring if they need support and explained to the children the different types of abuse that some children are subjected to. There were plenty of opportunities for the children to ask questions and make comments. We also discussed who trusted adults are and who they can go to if they are feeling worried or concerned. A really important assembly this week. Please do follow this up with your children at home if you are able to

  • Determination – Year 5/6 Girls’ football tournament

    Mon 03 Oct 2022

A fantastic effort from all the girls. We lost one, drew one and won two games at the tournament. Iris was an incredible fearless goal-keeper, making save after save and kept us in the games. Sasha and Ruby were fantastic strikers scoring a total of ten goals between them! Auste was strong with assisting the goals and was all over the pitch attacking and defending-her determination never waned once. Zoe, Chloe and Matilda didn't make it easy for the opposition, they grew in confidence defending our half and helped to push the ball forwards in mid-field and key moments. Tilly and Zahra were absolutely solid in defence, stopping the attackers on numerous occasions from breaking through to the box! We are so proud of all the girls.

  • Caring for the Environment – Rubbish Fashion Show

    Mon 03 Oct 2022

On Saturday 15th October, the Lady Bay pub will be hosting a ‘Rubbish Fashion show’. Entrants need to create their very own outfit out of rubbish they have collected in the community. There will be winners in different categories who will be able to walk the cat walk to see who the overall winners are. This is all to support the Lady Bay area in its effort to be a plastic free community

  • Determination and Enjoyment – Year 6 Topic launch

    Mon 03 Oct 2022

We are working really hard in school to try to ensure that all English topics have a hook that makes the children really interested in what they are going to be learning about and want to produce a fantastic piece of writing about it.  We have had some super hooks recently. To launch their writing topic about ‘What the Maya have done for us’ they did a chocolate tasting session and the children gave them a taste rating. A super way to get the children inspired for writing.

  • Enjoyment and Respect – Reverend Jonathan Mole visits year 3

    Mon 03 Oct 2022

We were delighted to welcome Jonathan into school this week to talk to the children about the church and his role in the church. He talked about different types of activities that happen at the church hall and what he does to support people in the community. He also answered lots of questions. It was fantastic to receive such positive feedback from Jonathan after the visit too as he said how engaged and well behaved all the year 3s were.

  • Reflection – assembly this week

    Mon 03 Oct 2022

We used our assembly time this week to raise awareness about the work Framework does in the community. It was our pleasure to invite Matt in to talk to the children about homelessness. He spoke to them about how some people become homeless, the fact that they are people who need help and what Framework are doing to help them. He also thanked all the children for their kind donations for Harvest, which we will be taking to Framework next week.
