  • Respect and caring for the environment – Eco Committee

    Mon 29 Apr 2024

The Eco Committee have been very busy this week. They did some weeding in the garden to make some space for some native wildflower seeds to be planted. This is to aim to support pollinators. They even saved a newt which had ventured away from the pond and returned it safely back to where it belongs.

Well done girls

  • Reflection and Curiosity – Assembly this week

    Mon 29 Apr 2024

We were really pleased that Mrs Conway agreed to talk to the children in assembly this week. Mrs Conway is from Uganda and has recently been successful in her application for British citizenship. Mrs Conway talked to the children about what her life in Uganda, why she moved to England and what she had to do to pass the test for citizenship. Mrs Conway also talked to the children about the British Values and what they each meant. It was a really interesting assembly and on the back of this we will be doing more work talking to the children about the British values and what each of them mean to them and their everyday life. A super assembly with lots of interesting questions.

  • All our school values – Year 4 residential

    Fri 26 Apr 2024

The children in year 4 were on their residential trip this week to PGL Caythorpe. Residentials are a brilliant time for us to see the children out of their classrooms and excelling at different outdoor activities. There were times where they had to push themselves as they felt a little scared and all of them would have taken lots from the experience. The children climbed a 10-metre wall, played scooter tag, travelled on the lake on a paddleboard, went on the zip wire and learnt how to shoot arrows at the archery. I thoroughly enjoyed going to see them take part in the activities too. Thank you to the parents for supporting the trip, the staff who stayed with the children for the 3 days and to the children for showing all our school values.

  • Caring for each other – Emelia’s amazing effort

    Fri 26 Apr 2024

It is always lovely to share things that some of our children have done outside of school. Emelia (in year 4) has been growing her hair for a long time and over Easter she did something really special. Emilia donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, Emilia donated 14 inches (36cm) of her hair which will be used to create a real har wig for a child who has cancer. More information can be found here on her fundraising page. Emilia has also raised over £1,400 for the charity too. Incredible effort. Emilia has also raised over £1,400 for the charity too.
