Year 1 News

Toys from the Past

This half term we have been looking at Toys from the Past. We enjoyed listening to some Grandparents talk about the types of toys they played with when they were little! We had a fantastic workshop on old toys. We pretended we were working in the toy museum and had to answer questions about the old toys. We thought about how the toys may work along with what the toys were made of. We had lots of fun!

Signs of Autumn

For homework over October half term we collected different signs of Autumn. We brought these into school and enjoyed looking at the Autumn things in class. We identified different kinds of leaves and trees 🌿🌱🍃

Can we locate the United Kingdom on a map?

Enjoying Drumba

In PE the Year 1s have been enjoying Drumba. We have had great fun learning all the fundamentals! We did not stop moving! Drumba is very active!

Pizza Perfection

What fun we had!

The Year 1 children enjoyed their trip to Pizza Express this term. They had a fabulous time making their pizzas! Stretching the dough proved to be trickier than it sounds. All children were successful in getting their pizzas back to school successfully! I think its safe to say that the children enjoyed eating their delicious pizzas back at home! Well done everyone! You were a credit to the school with your super behaviour and manners!
