We were all very excited to welcome back the Drumba trainers to Lady Bay. They delivered a staff meeting on Drumba. We have bought 30 Drumba drums and are looking forward to starting an after-school club and incorporating it as part of our PE curriculum. I know the children are going to love it!

  • Reflection – assembly this week

    Fri 23 Sep 2022

We used our assembly time this week to raise awareness about the work Jeans for Genes does to support children. We talked to the children about what genes are, how we get our genes from our parents and that is why we often look like them and what happens if a child is missing a gene or has a genetic disorder. We have had children in school the charity has supported and feel it is really important to keep talking to the children about this. It was also so lovely to see so many children wearing Jeans today showing their support for the charity.

  • Respect and Enjoyment – Guatemalan Day

    Fri 09 Sep 2022

Thank you to Mrs. Lopez and to everyone who made it a success and helped in different ways! We raised £1,123.87 from the Guatemalan Days

It was lovely to have the music, café and cocktails for families at the end of last term and we are looking forward to doing the same again next summer.

  • Determination - Arts Mark Accreditation

    Thu 08 Sep 2022

A massive well done to Mrs. Galloway and all the staff at Lady Bay for receiving the Gold award for the Arts Mark. Thank you to Vanessa from V Create too for her support with this. It is incredibly difficult to achieve the Gold Award, and a lot of hard work and determination has gone in to reach this standard. As stated previously, where possible, we will be seeking ways to ensure our curriculum is externally validated. Receiving the Gold Award shows what a fantastic effort we do to promote the Arts across the school. Well done everyone!

  • Caring for the Environment – Eco Committee

    Thu 21 Jul 2022

Thank you to everyone who entered the Eco Code poster competition.  Favourites were chosen by the Eco committee and School Council at their end-of-year tea party.  Here are some of the lovely entries and the new Eco Code for our school will be ready for September.  Well done Lady Bay!

Now the weather is getting hotter, our Year 4 Eco rep would like to share some water saving tips with you.

    1. Take shorter showers.  You could cut one minute off your shower time to save energy and water.

    2. Turn the tap OFF while you brush your teeth because a running tap uses six litres of water every minute.

    3. Get a water butt to collect rain water for your plants at home.  They will love it.
