Children's Work

In the Foundation Stage the children have been heard sharing lots of lovely ideas regarding the people in their families and where they live or may have originated from. They have also been constructing, using wooden blocks and trains, routes linked to stories that they have heard and read.

The Year 1 children have been making maps of town and villages using building blocks. they talked about the building that may be found in this particular type of place, suing their knowledge of the local area and constructed their own visions of a town. The children were able to label some of these physical and human features within their constructions.

The Year 3 children have been tasting food in their Geography lesson. This is linked to their Mediterranean Unit of work. They talked about why people can enjoy such food in a particular groups of countries and how this may be different to the food that we may 'usually' prefer to eat where we live. The children also talked about the influence that this food is tarting to have in different parts of the world. What a yummy experience!
