  • Determination and Collaboration – Fundamentals Festival

    Well done to the year 2 children who attended the fundamentals festival on Monday. Miss Hutchinson took 6 children to a festival where they learnt and applied a range of new schools. As ever, they all behaved impeccably and thoroughly enjoyed it.

    It was so lovely to see the children thoroughly enjoying the football on Monday afternoon. It was a great start for England and all the children loved it. A great way to spend some wellbeing time in assessment week.

  • Reflection – assembly this week

    We were delighted to welcome Terry and Charlie back into school this week. Terry came into school to say a big thank you for the school’s effort in raising money for the charity he supports. Terry also talked to the children about how a guide dog is trained from a puppy and what it is like from a dog’s perspective   Thank you to all the parents for supporting us in raising £307.

  • Collaboration-Year 6 raise money for The Guide Dog Charity

    We are really proud that some children in Year 6 worked together to organise a cake sale. All proceeds will go to the Guide Dog Charity.

  • Enjoyment – Choir trip to the opera

    Thank you to Mrs. Sture and Mrs. Wells for organising a trip for the choir to go to the opera this week. The children attended the Royal Concert Hall to see Opera North. It was an interactive session and one that I know the children thoroughly enjoyed. A lovely afternoon for the children. 

  • Enjoyment – LBSA fireworks night

    Thank you to the LBSA for organising such a lovely event. It was great to see so many people (over 1000) enjoying such a well-organised display. The fireworks were great and at a time when lots of places were cancelling events, it was so lovely that the LBSA were able to put on such a great spectacle for the community. Thank you to all the parents who supported the event – it raised over £4000 for the school.

  • Respect – Remembrance Day

    During our Dragon assemblies this week, we talked to the children about Remembrance Day, why it is so important for us to remember those who have lost their lives fighting for our country and what the poppy represents. The children had super prior knowledge and were able to share this. We also asked the children to take part in a 2-minute silence on the playground. They were all very respectful and took part brilliantly.

  • Respect and caring for the environment

    Our Eco Committee met for the first time this week and they are all looking forward to the challenge of making the school as Eco friendly as possible. The children also had a go with the letter pickers in the playground too. Thank you, Mrs. Milton.

  • Enjoyment and Curiosity – Year 3 making Egyptian Masks

    It was so lovely to see the amazing art work created in year 3 this week during their Egyptians topic. The children were set the task of designing, making and painting Egyptian death masks.

  • Curiosity – Year 6 children visit the University of Nottingham

    10 of our year 6 children this week had the opportunity to visit Nottingham Trent University. The children had the chance to attend science workshops, meet a range of students to hear about their experiences of university and ask questions about the types of courses that the university run. A very informative day out.
