Enjoyment and Enrichment – Year 1 bread making
Thu 19 Jan 2023Year 1 also really enjoyed the launch of their English topic this week. The children were learning how to write a set of instructions. They did this by going through the different stages of making bread and writing out these as instructions.

Enjoyment and Enrichment – Year 2 drama
Thu 19 Jan 2023It was great to see the children in year 2 thoroughly enjoying their English topic launch this week. The children are learning about the book ‘The Steadfast Tin Soldier’. The children were asked put themselves in the position of the characters and think about how they felt. They really enjoyed acting out different parts of the story.

Enjoyment and Enrichment – The choir trip to Young Voices
Fri 06 Jan 2023Thank you to the parents who took the time to offer such positive feedback about the Young Voices trip. I know that Mrs Sture and Mrs Wells look forward to this trip and have been really sad that it has not been on for the past few years. The children all behaved fantastically well and were a credit to the school. They got to sing with over 4000 other children. It was a late night for a lot of the children and there were some very tired faces this morning. A super trip and a fantastic enrichment opportunity.

Enjoyment and Enrichment – Foundation Alien Day
Fri 06 Jan 2023It was so lovely to start the week off with so many children dressed up in space themed outfits. It was a fantastic way for foundation to launch their new topic and there were lots of very excited children. The foundation staff have lots of super activities planned for the children and I have already seen some lovely space themed writing.

Enjoyment – Mayan Museum
Fri 09 Dec 2022Thank you to all the year 6 parents who were able to attend the Mayan Museum this afternoon. Once again, it was a fantastic event and one that the children thoroughly enjoyed. The quality of work presented was outstanding and the children’s knowledge of the topic was amazing.

Determination – Year 6 cross-country competition
Fri 09 Dec 2022Well done to the year 6 representatives who attended the cross-country competition. This was a competitive event where the top 12 (out of 90) would make it through to the reginal finals. Well done to all our runners and a special mention to William and Sam who made it to the regional finals.

Curiosity and Enjoyment – Year 3 Egyptian day
Fri 09 Dec 2022It was such a fantastic day for year 3 today. Partake came in to deliver their Egyptian day. It was a totally immersed in their learning about the Egyptians. They got the opportunity to dress up and learn so much about Egyptian gods and burials. A fantastic day which they all loved.

Curiosity – Year 3 D and T
Wed 30 Nov 2022It was great to see the year 3 children at the making stage of their D and T project this week, The children were making an Egyptian Shaduf. They had to use a saw accurately and use a hot glue gun to stick it together. I look forward to seeing the finished Shadufs.

Thank you to everyone who entered the competition last term and thought so carefully about what Lady Bay holds important in it's Eco heart. The Eco committee are busily putting up a new code in each of our classrooms and here's a copy for you to see as well.

Respect and caring for each other – Cake sale for the Guide Dog charity
Wed 30 Nov 2022In addition to the £307 raised for the Guide Dog charity, a group of year 6 children have raised over £160. The girls (and James) arranged a cake sale on Wednesday for all the children in Key Stage 2. They worked tirelessly to bake over 150 cakes and sold them for £1 each. It was a truly amazing effort and one that the children organised and led themselves. Well done to all the year 6s involved.
