    Fri 03 Feb 2023

This week, we focussed our assemblies on talking to the children about National Story Telling week. I read one of my favouirite stories to the children (The Smeds and Smoos) and talked to the children about the message behind it. I also worked with the KS1 children to create a 5 minute poem about the playground. It was great to see their idea and show how we can tell stories in different ways.

  • Caring for the environment – Eco club’s walk to school Wednesday

    Tue 31 Jan 2023

First Eco Initiative for this year is WoW! – also known as Walk on Wednesdays.  Each class is trying to have the largest number of walkers on the next six Wednesdays (starting on 1st February).  Eco reps for each class will keep a record of this and we will find out who the winning class is.  What a great project, encouraging an environmentally friendly way to travel and promoting fitness and good health at the same time.  Please help by keeping your car at home on Wednesdays if you can, and walking to school instead (or at least part of the way!)  Thank you for your support in helping us all to have a positive start to Wednesdays.  Here's to some lovely Spring weather!

  • Curiosity and Respect - Guide Dogs

    Thu 19 Jan 2023

It was amazing to be able to present Terry with £170 for the Guide Dog Charity which was raised by Year 6 children having a cake sale.

Terry let us know what Charlie had been up to and the children had lots of questions for him in assembly. Ms Chilton an ex member of staff also joined in the assembly and brought in Wisp - a guide dog puppy in training! Wisp wasn't as well behaved as Charlie, but we're sure she'll learn all the commands in time!

  • Caring for the environment – Eco Committee meeting

    Thu 19 Jan 2023

The eco committee met this week to talk through their aims for this year. They have agreed a set of objectives that they want to achieve. They were also happy to see the Green Flag too. We achieved this because of our work so far and our commitment to trying to be as eco friendly as possible. The school council have also challenged the children to create an eco-poster. The children have until the end of this half term to create a poster reminding people how to be environmentally friendly. The school council will judge the entries and there are prizes too. This has been shared with the children so hopefully they will be excited to make a poster
