  • Be Ready (Enjoyment) – Golf festival

    Wed 25 Jun 2025

Thank you to Mrs. Keane for taking a group of children to a golf festival this week. The children attended Radcliffe on Trent golf course. They learnt how to play the game and some of the skills needed to hit the ball effectively. It was a really fun festival. Well done to Henry too who was the only person to hit a hole in one. The children were all fantastic and once again represented Lady Bay brilliantly.

  • Growing together - Lady Bay Safari Sale

    Mon 16 Jun 2025

A message from the LBSA -

The Lady Bay Safari Sale took place this weekend and was a fantastic success!

Over 100 stalls popped up across Lady Bay offering homemade, preloved & new treasures—and the community came out in full force.

This year’s stall registrations raised over £1,000 for the Lady Bay School Association! Many stalls also supported brilliant causes like RNLI, Millwood Cat Rescue, Lady Bay Greenies, Ukraine Relief, Cat Patrol & more.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported, and helped keep the Lady Bay community spirit thriving

  • Growing together – OPAL

    Mon 16 Jun 2025

We have had another super week of OPAL lunchtimes. The children are becoming so much more proficient with their play and are really enjoying the different zones we have on offer. Over the next month, we have two schools coming to visit us to see how we manage our play offering on a restricted site. We are really excited to show what progress we have made so far and to share our plans moving forward with them. We are constantly reviewing the play offering we have in school. If you have any feedback (both positive and constructive) or would like to share your child’s view of OPAL, please do email me at head@ladybay.notts.sch.uk

Your feedback helps us to shape our offering and how we move forward with play at Lady Bay.

This week’s photo shows some children in year 2 who were very proud of their den. It took them a long time to make it and it had lots of different features.

  • Ready – Boys’ County Cup final

    Mon 16 Jun 2025

The boy’s faced Edwalton in the County Cup final this week. It was an incredible achievement to reach the final and the boys gave it their all. We were deservedly 1-0 for the majority of the game and played some really good football. Edwalton scored 1 with 8 minutes to go and as we tried to get the winner, they broke on us to score the second in the final minutes of the game. We were all disappointed for the boys who were brilliant. We have had an excellent season, winning 2 trophies and a possible third with the league. Well done Lady Bay!

  • Be Safe – Year 6 Road Safety quiz

    Mon 16 Jun 2025

We welcomed the Road Safety team into school this week. The team talked to the children about how they stay safe in the community. They discussed when and how to cross a road and what hazard they may experience.  The children then took part in a quiz to show their understanding. A super session and a great way for the year 6 to reflect on being safe.

  • Be Ready (Reflection) – Assembly this week

    Mon 16 Jun 2025

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Terry and Charlie back in to school. Terry has been coming in to school for over 10 years and has a super relationship with our school. We are the only school he now visits so we are very fortunate. We invite Terry in to reinforce the children’s understanding on the protected characteristics and that we should not discriminate due to disability. Terry came in to raise awareness of blind people in the community and his experiences of when he has visited other countries. He even told the children that some countries do not believe he is blind unless he wears dark glasses. He also talked about the discrimination he has faced due to the fact that he has a guide dog. He has not been able to ride some public transport and not allowed in some buildings. A great assembly and a great way to break down barriers for the children

  • Growing Together - Lexus Nottingham Open

    Mon 16 Jun 2025

We were so excited to be invited to the Lexus Nottingham Open by the LTA due to our previous involvement as a school in tennis.

Six Year 4 children had the opportunity to have a behind the scenes tour, sit in the press areas and watch the players warm up. They also had the opportunity to watch games on Centre Court.

Thank you to the LTA for the wonderful opportunity, all the children said it was an experience they will never forget!

  • Growing together – OPA

    Wed 04 Jun 2025

The OPAL team met this week to discuss all things OPAL and reflect on the successes of the half-term and the next steps for play at Lady Bay. We created a list of games that would be in the games’ zone and we will now have a different game each day. We are still exploring the options for the sand pit. It is quite expensive so we are looking at the best ways to fund it.

This week, the photos were taken by children in year 6. They captured lots of fun play. We have another amazing den form a group of boys and an awesome outfit from the dress-up box.

  • Caring for the environment – Cake sale

    Wed 04 Jun 2025

Well done to the Eco Committee and the School Council who joined forces to run the cake sale this week. It was a great success with lots of delicious cakes on sale. Thank you to the parents who donated the cakes and for sending the children in with £1. The committees raised over £400. They all thoroughly enjoyed the morning and it was a great way to raise money for the new planters.
