  • Be Ready – Sportshall Athletics final

    Mon 02 Mar 2026

Well done to the 10 children from year 6 who represented Lady Bay at the Sportshall Athletics this week. It is a competitive event which followed on from the heats last month. The children took part in a mixture of track and field events and points were awarded for positions in each one. We just missed out on a medal by 4 points, finishing fourth. An excellent effort from all the children. Thank you to Mr Oliver for supporting the event and to all the parents who were able to take the children to the final.

    Wed 25 Feb 2026

This week(before half term), we focussed our assemblies on Safer Internet Day. This links to the British Values of tolerance and mutual respect. They debated whether the internet was a positive thing and whether social media should be accessed by under 16s. Some really powerful assemblies this week.

  • Be Ready – Spanish in year 5

    Wed 25 Feb 2026

The children in year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their Spanish lesson this week. They were learning about the Guatemalan festival held this time of year where they make Cascarones. These are hollowed out eggs filled with confetti and glitter. These are cracked on people’s heads to bring good luck, fun and celebration. The children loved cracking them on each other. A lovely way to bring Guatemalan culture to life.
