Determination and Collaboration – PE at Lady Bay
Mon 22 Jan 2024It has been incredibly cold this week but that hasn’t stopped our children doing their PE sessions. As a school, we prioritise PE and ensure that all children have 2 hours of PE per week. We also employ Mr. Steggles as a PE specialist to upskill the staff. It makes for fun-filled and engaging PE sessions. -
Determination and Collaboration – Sports hall athletics
Mon 22 Jan 2024Well done to all the year 6 children who attended the sports hall athletics event this week. The event was a competitive event and the children took part in a range of activities. They all showed fantastic determination and worked collaboratively. All the year 6 children were a credit to the school and performed so well that they won their heat and go through to the next round. Well done Lady Bay.

Determination – School Council feedback
Mon 22 Jan 2024Thank you to all the school council members who met with Mrs. Beckett this week. The school council members are the elected children from each class who meet half termly to discuss any issues raised by children and next steps for the school. During this meeting, the children talked about what they felt would make break and lunch run more smoothly and what would enhance the provision outside. -
Enrichment and Enjoyment – Art Day
Fri 19 Jan 2024I hadn't had chance to upload some of the amazing art work the children did during the Art day we did at the start of this half term. Each year group focused on a continent and the range of artists covered and the artistic skills on show were impressive. A super way to start the term.

Curiosity and Enjoyment – Year 5 trip to the Civil War Museum
Fri 19 Jan 2024The children in year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Civil War Museum this week. The children learnt about the causes of the Civil War and what life was life in Newark during a siege. The trip was really interactive and engaging and the children were a credit to the school. Another fantastic trip to the Civil War Museum. -
Curiosity – Foundation launch their new topic
Fri 19 Jan 2024It was amazing to see the effort the children put in with their costumes for the start of the foundation topic on Aliens and Outer Space. Thank you to all the parents for supporting this. The children have also been making their own aliens too. They all looked great. -
Curiosity and Enjoyment – Year 2 hook for their new English topic
Fri 19 Jan 2024It was great to see the children in year 2 engaged in drama this week. The year 2 staff launched their new English unit on the ‘Steadfast Tin Soldier’. The children acted out the story playing different roles. It was a great way to get them to be fully immersed in their work and I am sure they all have a super understanding of the book.

Collaboration and Enjoyment – Upper School singalong
Fri 22 Dec 2023Thank you to all the parents who were able to come to the Upper School Christmas sing on the playground. It was lovely to have all 240 children singing with all the parents who were able to make it. Thank you to all the children for putting in so much effort learning the songs and carols and for showing the parents the actions to the Twelve Day of Christmas. A super way to spread some Christmas cheer

Curiosity and Enjoyment – Foundation trip to Lakeside
Fri 22 Dec 2023The children in foundation enjoyed a fantastic trip to Lakeside this week. They saw an excellent performance of ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’. The singing, dancing and acting was brilliant and the children all had a super time. A super trip for the children in foundation.

Collaboration and Enjoyment – Year 1 and 2 Nativity at All Hallows Church
Mon 18 Dec 2023Wow!! The year 1 and 2 Nativity this year was amazing. The All Hallows Church was a fantastic venue for the nativity and one that we plan to use every year in the future. The children were all incredible. They were all so confident, they spoke really clearly and their singing and dancing was excellent. Thank you to All Hallows for decorating the church in such a lovely way and for letting us perform there. Thank you to all the parents for helping the children learn their lines and for providing such super costumes. Thank you to the staff for their efforts in preparing and delivering such a super nativity and thank you to the children for all their efforts.
