Curiosity – Year 3 RE work
Thu 10 Oct 2024Thank you to our wonderful friends at All Hallows church for visiting year 3 this week. Nicky lead a session to support their understanding of Christianity. The children were able to ask questions and it was a great way to enrich RE. Thank you to All Hallows for their support

Enjoyment and Curiosity – Year 6
Thu 10 Oct 2024Well done to the children in year 6 this week. They have been working hard to complete their D and T projects. They have been through the process of designing and creating their fairground rides and this week they added the battery and switches to make the ride work. They will be finishing these and then evaluating their designs. A super project and lots and happy year 6 children

Determination – Boys’ county cup match
Thu 10 Oct 2024A huge well done to the year 5 and 6 boys this week. They played their county cup fixture away against Barnby Road Academy in Newark. The team were excellent and we had lots of praise form the opposition for their collaboration and the way each member of the team supported each other. It was an emphatic 6-1 win. We are through to the next round and will find out our opponents soon. Well done Lady Bay.

Enjoyment – Year 1 trip to Pizza Express
Thu 10 Oct 2024Year 1 had a fabulous morning at Pizza Express this week. The children learnt how to make a pizza and the importance of following a method. They also learnt what ingredients make a pizza and all created their very own Cheese and Tomato pizza (with a sprinkling of Oregano too). It was such a fantastic trip and a great way to enrich their curriculum. Thank you to the parent helpers who were able to attend. the children were all delightful and we had very positive feedback from the staff and the restaurant.

Reflection and Respect – assembly this week
Thu 10 Oct 2024The focus of assemblies this week was the Harvest. We invited Imran Kahn in from Muslim Hands to talk to the children about Harvest and the work Muslim Hands do to support homeless people in Nottingham. He explained that they provide over 1000 meals per week and that their donations would go to these people. Imran Kahn also spoke to the children about the 5 Pillars of Islam and why charity is important to Muslims. Thank you very much for all your donations. We have split the donations between Muslim Hands and the Rosecliffe food bank (supported by SEWA).

Determination – year 3 computing
Thu 10 Oct 2024Year 3 have been working hard on I-Pads this week, They have been examining the differences between drawing on paper and drawing on a digital device. The images they created were amazing. Well done year 3.

Determination – Girls’ tournament
Thu 10 Oct 2024Wow, what a Saturday for the girls! Mrs. Hewitt was incredibly proud of all the girls who attended the tournament last Saturday. They showed great determination to get through the group stages, win their semi-final 2-0 and then win the final 1-0. It is the first time Lady Bay have ever had a girls’ team that have won the tournament. This follows an excellent season last year where they were division 1 champions too. What a fantastic effort and what a superb achievement!

Enjoyment and caring for each other – year 6 trip to Safety Zone
Thu 10 Oct 2024The year 6 children went to Holme Pierrepont this week for Safety Zone. |Representatives from the fire service, policy, railways, coast guards and health service discussed with the children how they can stay safe in a variety of situations. A fantastic and very informative trip and one that is very important for the year 6 children.
