Resect and Growing Together - 3 Simple rules – Be safe, Be Kind, Be ready

Your children may have come back and told you about our 3 simple rules that were introduced to them this week. We have a fantastic motto that encapsulated all we are trying to achieve here, 6 values which we want our children to display throughout their time at Lady Bay and now, 3 simple rules we are asking them to understand and follow. These may end up replacing our values in the future as the 6 can fit under these 3 headings. We really want out children to know and understand what is expected of them and have simplified it into 3 things. We are asking them to always be safe in their time in and around school. We want them to always be kind to themselves and to their friends. We want them to be ready. This is ready for learning, ready for the next lesson or ready to listen when asked. We are hoping that the new 3 rules are simple so that all children can understand and follow them. We will be looking at throughout he school day when we can catch the children modelling the 3 rules.

In addition to this, we spent a lot of time in our INSET day discussing behaviour and how we can reward those children who always behave well. We have introduced a way of tracking the Dragon’s gold collected and there will be further rewards for those who are safe, kind and ready all the time. We will be introducing an additional award for those children who go above and beyond. These will not be given out very often but will be given out for individuals who have worked incredibly hard, been incredibly kind or for something the staff feel needs rewarding. These children will enjoy hot chocolate with the headteacher at the end of each half term.
