Reflection and Respect – assembly this week

The focus of assemblies this week was to introduce the Jigsaw topic this half term ‘Celebrating Differences’. We talked to the children what makes them special and unique. We also looked at different animals and what was amazing about them. We then explored the term tolerance and what it meant to the children. We discussed how we need to ensure we are accepting of all people from all backgrounds and what this looks like at school. A really interesting and informative assembly.

We also spent time talking to the children about Remembrance Day and why it is an important day. We discussed why the poppy was the symbol for the day and that people are even now still giving their life to ensure we remain safe. It was great that all the children were very respectful during our 2-minute silence too.
