Reflection and caring for each other – assembly this week

For our harvest assembly, it was great to invite Imran to talk to children. Imran works for the Open Kitchen on Mansfield Road which is a Muslim Hands charity. Imran spoke to the children about why charity is so important to Muslim people and what the open kitchen does to help others. The children were really engaged with the discussion and the youngest children found it difficult to comprehend that some people did not know where their next meal would be coming from. They children asked lots of questions and it was a great way to celebrate harvest. Thank you to all the families who were able to donate to the school. This has been split between the open kitchen and the Food Bank
