Christmas Tree Festival

Year 6 children have been decorating a tree to be included in the Christmas Tree Festival held at West Bridgford Methodist Church. Our tree commemorates the Christmas Truce of 1914 when, for just one day all across the front, men from both side emerged from the trenches and met in No Man’s Land to exchange gifts and play football.

A symbolic moment of peace and common humanity in an otherwise devastatingly violent war.

There will be 40 trees on display and the Festival is open to the public over the next two weekends.
