Caring for each other – Assembly this week

We used our assembly to talk to the children about an opportunity coming up in school to become Young Interpreter. Mrs James leads on supporting children with an additional language in school and we are going to join the Young Interpreters. He role will include buddying up with new children starting school (whether they are from abroad or not) and taking new parents on tours to explain what we do at Lady Bay. The scheme helps develop confidence, communication and leadership skills. Children will have to apply to be a Young Interpreter and there will be training for the children and Mrs James cannot wait to get started.
