Be Ready – Year 5 World War 2 Day

Wow, what a fantastic day year 5 had this week! It was fantastic to walk into the classroom and see so many artefacts laid out on all the tables. The children were taken back to what it would have been like to live during the war. They were able to touch and explore items from the time and it was clear they were all fascinated. It was great to see them all getting into character in the playground as they were learning to be wardens. It was a truly fantastic day and a great way for the children to be immersed in their learning. Thank you to Jason King who led the day and to all the parents who were able to help out too. It was unfortunate the weather was so bad as they had planned to walk to the site of the air raid shelter but this wasn’t possible.
