Information about starting school.
Starting School; some useful information
Please make sure all of the following items of clothing are clearly labelled:
- shoes (a lot of the children have the same)
- trousers
- skirts
- dresses
- jumpers
- cardigans
- fleeces
- coats
- t shirts
- tights
- hats
- gloves
- scarves
- P.E Kits (shorts, jogging bottoms, leggings, t shirts, jumpers, plimsoles, socks bag)
Please also ensure that the following school items are clearly labelled:
- book bag
- lunch box
- water bottle
- if your child requires any medication to be kept in school (inhalers, epipens etc) then these need to be in a clearly labelled secure box and will be kept in a medical cabinet.
If possible it would be beneficial if your child could do the following tasks independently:
- get undressed and dressed (for P.E)
- put on and fasten their coats
- put on and fasten their shoes
- use a knife and fork
- attempt to write their names with lower case letters and a capital letter at the beginning
- go to the toilet, including wiping
For starting school they will need the following items:
- book bag
- water bottle
- lunch box (if having packed lunches)
- P.E kit: shorts, jogging bottoms/leggings, t shirt, jumper, socks (for girls to change into of they have tights on), plimsoles or velcro fastening trainers
- drawstring PE Bag
- coat
- school uniform
