Year 6
Year 6 Long Term Plan
4.9.26 To begin our topic on The Ancient Maya, we researched the game Pok-a-Tok. Using our research, we designed our own version to play on the playground. It was a lot of fun and also a challenge to use just our knees, elbows and hips!
14.9.26 – Safety Zone
Year 6 enjoyed a trip to The National Water Sports Centre to participate in an engaging afternoon around keeping safe. It involved a range of sessions with various providers, such as Nottingham Police, Canal and River Trust and EMAS. They learned many skills that we hope will stick with them for life.
22.9.26 – Science
We investigated whether the voltage of a cell or battery affects the brightness of a bulb. Practical experimenting always creates lots of discussion and plenty of smiles!
29.9.26 Art
Cutting a stencil using craft knives in the style of street artists was quite a challenge! But our skills improved and led to some pleasing results.
