Growing together – OPAL

We are really looking forward to having the full playground back for OPAL on Monday. It has been a challenge with the reduced space but all the children have managed really well.

Our players have now begun their roles in school. We have 15 or 16 children who are acting as play leaders every day. The play leaders have set roles including supporting on the sports zone and scooter area, setting up and running the game of the day, acting as play buddies for the younger children and ticking off the dinner register. They are already making a positive contribution to school life. The librarians and litter pickers will also start their roles next week too. These roles, alongside our Young Interpreters, Eco and school council representatives, behaviour and curriculum leaders, Spanish ambassadors and digital leaders, make up our comprehensive children’s leadership opportunities. This week’s pictures show a birthday cake being made in the mud kitchen for Olive’s birthday and our play leaders playing ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’ with some of the younger children.
