Caring for the environment – assembly this week

The focus of our assembly this week was plastic. We started with the question – what are the positives and negatives of using plastic. We used this as a discussion point. The children came up with lots of positives for the uses of plastic and also lots of negatives. We looked at all the different products that use plastics too. We discussed the need for reducing the amount of plastic that we use and looked at the amount of plastic that ends up in landfill and the ocean each year. We also talked about how our litter makes it from Nottingham all the way to the ocean too. We finished thinking about ways that we could help use less plastic and the importance or reducing, reusing and recycling. A super assembly and one that supports our efforts as an Eco school
