Be Ready – Year 5 trip to the National Civil War Centre

A message from Mr Oliver and Miss Beckett - We had a superbly engaging and enlightening time at the National Civil War Museum in Newark today. We learnt about the causes of the conflict, how the war played out, the different types of soldiers (including a thorough examination of the various types of armor and weapons available to them), and the siege of Newark and how (if) individuals lived through it! We then explored some real artifacts to support our learning in History and English, it sounded like an amazing trip and a great way to enrich their topic
