Be Ready – year 1 practical maths

It was great to see the year 1s using the outdoor space for maths this week. Their focus was place value and partitioning into tens and ones. As a challenge, some children even managed to partition three-digit numbers. The children made part whole models out of hoops and chalked in the numbers and the hundred, tens and ones representations. A great way to make partitioning fun for the children.
