Be Ready – World Book Day

What a fantastic day we had for World Book Day. The effort from the children and staff was fantastic and the outfits were brilliant. The day was a real celebration of books. We shared with them all the amazing entries for the extreme reader competition. Thank you to all the parents who supported this. We are in the process of picking the winners. Thank you to Luxfer Gas who sponsored the competition and provided the prizes. They have also donated £250 for new non-fiction texts which the children will be picking. We also showed the children the masked readers. Members of staff read extracts of books and the children had to guess who was behind the mask. They all loved chanting ‘Take it off!’ when it was the big reveal. We are hoping to share these on the website. It was such a great atmosphere all day. Thank you to all the staff, children and parents for making the day special.
