Be ready – Opal Play assembly
We used our assembly time this week to survey the children about their experiences of play at lunchtime. We asked the children to think about what they enjoyed about lunch, what they didn’t enjoy about lunch and what could be done to improve this. We asked the children to reflect on the types of play on offer out side and whether they felt there was enough variation. This was a really interesting discussion and allowed us to reflect on the feelings of the children. We finished asking them about what they would like to see on the playground. There were some excellent ideas including: quiet spaces, buddy benches arts and crafts, den building, mud kitchen and sand pit. There were some more extreme ideas such as swimming pools and ice cream stands which might be a little difficult to create spaces for. As mentioned, the children will have their say throughout this process and will be able to shape the offering we have at lunchtime. Thank you to all the parents, grandparent and businesses that have donated so far. We are all very excited to get started
