Lady Bay Winter Windows 2021
What is Lady Bay Winter Windows?
Lady Bay Winter Windows is a fun family-friendly event where we would like people to create illuminated displays in windows. You can use the street-facing windows of your home, business, school, nursery, car, shop, or even your door, or front garden. This will create a temporary after-dark art trail and community event in Lady Bay.
The ever-popular Lady Bay Safari Sale is back on the 13th of June 2021 from 11am til 4pm

LBSA Update May 2021
It’s been a really challenging year for Lady Bay School Association (LBSA), as like many community groups we had to cancel many of our Fundraising Activities. However, we are so grateful for continued support from the school and wider Lady Bay community
Since 2018, we have been a Cooperative Community Fund recipient https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/46281. By nominating Lady Bay School Association as their charity, Co-Op Card members raise funds for the school each time they shop. In 2020/21 Co-Op members raised £5,115.37 for the school, which has funded sets of class IPads.
We are also grateful to the LBCA who donated £250 despite their cancelled Arts Trail. The school have asked that this go towards pupils participating in the Arts Mark programme a framework to embed creativity across the curriculum.
Between Lockdowns in 2020 we managed to squeeze in a delayed Safari Sale raising £600 (plus an additional £534 from clothing collections) This year’s sale (and clothing collection) will be on the 13th of June 2021 from 11am til 4pm.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to over 100 homes who participated in our socially distanced Winter Windows event in 2020. The event raised over £1,300 through online donations. It was an amazing event you can relive the magic online at https://tinyurl.com/lbwinterwindows2020 . The LBSA were also able to raise a further £600 through the sale of Christmas Trees and beautiful cards designed by Lady Bay Resident - Lee Williams.
This year, we have been asked by the school to support them to creatively use the limited outside space on site. The LBSA have funded Outdoor storage and resources in the Foundation and Yr1 areas. . We continue to fund learning resources including visits from a Reading Patron and books specifically designed for students with dyslexia , and familiar to all of us temporary homeschoolers Twinkl.
If anyone would like to get in contact with fundraising suggestions please contact us at ladybayschoolassoc@gmail.com
An amazing success more than 120 windows here is a small sample. Fundraising will run throughout the advent period so this will also provide an opportunity for other supporters of the school , parents, grandparents and members of the local community to make donations if they wish. Charity Bag Clothing Collection
2020
We know Lady Bay loves to reuse and recycle. In September 2020, the LBSA arranged a collection by Bags 2 School (https://bag2school.com/).
This UK Based community interest company will collect unwanted clothing and other items (detailed below) donating 30p per kilo to the school. Thank you to everyone who dropped off items for the Bag2School collection. This photo was taken at the halfway stage. We had so many items they had to come back again, as we filled the van!
A total of 1780kg was collected which means we raised a fantastic £534 for the school.
Thank you for all your support.

With a reduced rate of £5 for stall registration due to the late notice of the sale more than 100 stalls registered and maps were available to download or via an interactive Google Map is available at https://tinyurl.com/ladbaysafari2020map
Stall registration fees meant the LBSA raised a wonderful £590 for the school.
Next year's event will be held on the 13th of June 2021.
Goodbye to Year 6 Leavers 2019/20
It has been a particularly hard time for our Year 6 Leavers, who were unable to have their traditional Leaver's Party. In this exceptional year, the LBSA were asked not only to part fund the Leavers Hoodies, but to fund Year Books for each of the 60 Year 6 Leavers.
The books were put together by Hannah Ashton, a previous LBSA Chair and very active member of the LBSA. Hannah and her daughter also hand delivered them before the children started their new Secondary Schools in September 2020.
Cook Book (Summer 2020)
Hi there, the LBSA are starting the process of producing a cook book which they’re aiming to have ready and on sale before Christmas, the perfect Christmas gift!
The rough aim is to collate recipes from a combination of school children, local LadyBayers and if we can persuade the dinner ladies to share some of the kids favourite dinner time recipes we’ll include those too. At this stage we’re looking for a variety of recipes per year group.
We are looking for a combination of savoury/sweet and even drink recipes (smoothies/mock tails, mulled wine - anything goes!). The idea is that once recipes are selected for the book, we would ask the children to draw a picture to accompany it. We’ll have a think about how we can acknowledge all recipe submissions so that any not included in the book don’t feel despondent.
Therefore, we would love it if you could email recipes to: Ladybaycookbook@gmail.com. Think about any recipes that are a hit with family and friends or those quick tea time meals or anything really! I’ll send a couple of examples of the type of thing that another school did to give you an idea, but whatever you feel is perhaps your speciality or a family favourite or just something that others would enjoy! Thanks so much for your support. I
f you’re able to send them over the Summer so we’re in a position to review all recipes in September that would be much appreciated.
Please include your child’s name and year group please.
Cooperative Community Fundraising 2019/20
We have just received £2,079.71 into the Lady Bay School Association Account as our half yearly payment from the Co-operative Community Fund 2019/20.
In addition from the contributions from the Cooperative Members a boost has come from Co-Op adding money from the sale of carrier bags. Thank you to all those who have nominated the LBSA as their cause . You can still do so for the remaining six months at https://www.coop.co.uk/membership
Last year this raised more than £6,000 for the school so definitely worth registering.
Sunflowers for Mother's Day (March 2020)
The LBSA usually hosts a Mother's Day Stall.
In 2020 year due to COVID19 we were unable to host. However two days before lockdown (as we had already purchase the seed/packets) seeds were distributed to all pupils and hand delivered to those already isolating.
A lovely surprise for Mums and a fun activity for kids.

KS2 Christmas Sing A Long
Over in the Upper School, after a tricky start caused by a broken urn, the LBSA raised £121 serving mulled wine and mince pies at the KS2 Christmas Sing-A-Long. The urn is back working after a replacement fuse and next year we will stock much more mulled wine.
In the Lower School Hall, Yr 6 Parents - Sarah K-F did an amazing job treating the Yr6 pupils to Hot Chocolate and Cookies.
Christmas Fair 2019
The amazing Lady Bay School Christmas Fair has this year raised over £2,500 for the school. Thank you to all the volunteers (parents, teachers, Year 6 pupils and even some retuning Yr7 who couldn't stay away ) who made it happen.
We hope everyone enjoyed the games, which seem to get better every year and the pocket money stall proved popular as ever.
This year we had over 100 sweet cups and more than 200 teddies donated (those leftover have been donated to a Nottingham City teacher who is working to give every pupil in her school a teddy and book for Christmas).
