  • Be Safe and Be Kind – Assembly this week

    Fri 27 Mar 2026

This week, we were extremely pleased to welcome Miles in to talk to the children. We talked to the children about the protected characteristic of disability and the fact that it is World Downs Syndrome day on Saturday 21st March. Miles is a friend of the school and he came to talk to the children about his experiences as an adult with Downs Syndrome. The children were all amazingly respectful and genuinely interested in what Miles had to say. They asked amazing questions and were truly engaged throughout. A super way to raise awareness during neuro-diversity week. We are looking forward to raising awareness of more neuro-diversities in the near future

  • Be Ready – Boys’ football

    Fri 27 Mar 2026

The boys’ football team represented Notts County at the regional finals this week in Chesterfield. It was a very long day with ten 12-minjute matches played in a group stage. The boys were incredible winning 9 and drawing 1 and topping the group. They then won the semi-final 1-0. It was a very nervy final which went to penalties. The boys were victorious 3-1 on penalties and now will be representing Notts County in the nation finals to be played at Wembley. A truly outstanding effort from the boys and a magnificent prize.

  • Growing together – OPAL

    Fri 27 Mar 2026

What a lovely week of weather. It has been so great to see many children enjoying the sun shine and loving all what OPAL offers. We met as the OPAL team (including our parent representatives) and have created a plan for OPAL. We are excited to keep developing the different zones. Below you can see a picture of Leo and Maxwell enjoying the fancy dress

  • Be Safe – Foundation fire engine visit

    Fri 27 Mar 2026

To support the children in foundation with their understanding of people who help them, we invited in the fire service this week. The team talked to the children about fire safety and how a smoke alarm works. They reminded them of what to do in an emergency and also let them spray the fire hose too. What a super day!

  • Be Ready – Easter Egg competition and hunt

    Fri 27 Mar 2026

Thank you to all the children who entered the Easter Egg competition this year. There were some truly outstanding entries and it was clear that the children had tried really hard with them. Thank you to the parents for supporting this too. It was great to see such creative ideas and it was incredibly hard to judge. We invited back Mrs. Wilson to pick who she felt were the best or most creative designs. Thank you to all the parents who came to see the eggs at 3pm. The children thoroughly enjoyed seeing them and we hope you did too. Also, a final thank you to all parents who supported the Egg hunt. The LBSA did a fantastic job creating clues and making the hunt interesting and I am sure families enjoyed walking round the hint in the sunshine.

We gave out the prizes to the winners today – well done to all those who entered.

  • Be Safe and Be Kind – Assembly this week

    Mon 16 Mar 2026

This week, all of our assemblies were focussed on National Science Week. We were so lucky to have so many parents and volunteers who were happy to come in and share their love of science. We had assemblies and workshops on a variety of different topics including: the brain, scientific curiosity, DNA, soil, Eye spy science – from vision to action, lights and lazers, robotics, what makes a good scientist and jet engines. It was incredible to see the effort the parents and volunteers put in to make their presentations engaging and I know all the children have had a super week. They have learnt how to observe, make predictions, carry out a scientific enquiry and to question what they think is true. I have shared a few photos below but we had hundreds from the week. Thank you to Mr. Warren-Oliver for his efforts in bringing science week to life. What an amazing week!

  • Be Ready – Year 1 trip to Wagamama

    Mon 16 Mar 2026

It was great to hear how much the children in year 1 enjoyed the trip to Wagamama this week. The children attend the trip to support their understanding of where food comes from. The staff are always excellent and introduced the children to a range of foods that some had not seen before. All the children explored the different ingredients and tasted a few of them. They were then asked to choose which ingredients and which protein they wanted to add to their noodles and these were then cooked by the staff. A fun-filled morning and a superb way to engage and support the children’s understanding of their topic.

  • Be Ready – Boys’ and Girls’ football

    Mon 16 Mar 2026

Well done to the girls’ and boys’ football teams who both played league matches at Radcliffe on Trent Juniors this week. The teams played two 25 minutes halves and counted for the home and away fixtures to ensure all the games get completed this year. The girls tried their absolute hardest but unfortunately lost both games. A special mention to Anushka who was outstanding in goal. The boys also payed so excellent football, winning both of their games. This will hopefully set them up nicely for their trip to Chesterfield next week where they will be representing Notts County at a tournament.

  • Be Ready – Year 4 Roman Day

    Mon 16 Mar 2026

To so support the year 4 children’s understanding of the Romans, they took part in a Roman day this week. We invited in a history specialist who led the day. She brought in lots of Roman artefacts and the children learnt about life in Roman times. They learnt what it was like to be a Roman soldier and engaged in in-depth conversations about the benefits of the Roman army. It was a super day and a great way to bring history to life. Thank you to the year 4 team for organising it.
