World Book Day
We dressed up as our favourite book character for World Book Day and enjoyed sharing our books with each other. A highlight was going to see our friends in EYFS and reading a story to them. We love reading to the younger children in school.
English - Debate
Mr Border received a letter seeking consultation on a proposal to build new homes and a leisure centre on land around 'the hook'. This led to a fiery parliamentary-style debate in 6MO, with budding politicians putting forward the case 'for' and 'against'. A fantastic start to our 'balanced argument' writing unit!
Dodgeball v Y4
In true Lady Bay community spirit, Year 6 enjoyed a friendly dodgeball match against 4C (and a few rogue Y6s!).
DT - Cooking 2
From Mexican savoury to American sweet - this time Year 6 used their advancing cooking skills to bake batches of beautiful cookies. The smell was amazing! We hope families enjoyed their handcrafted desserts - if they saved you any!
DT - Cooking
We've had a super time making Guacamole in Year 6 this afternoon - yummy!
Band in a Day
We have enthusiastically enriched our enjoyment of music by working together with our wonderful visitors to create a class band in just one day! Using ideas of basic rhythm notation, tempo and dynamics, with a variety of instruments and our vocal group, 6MO performed Dance Monkey by Tones and I - well done to everyone!
Design and Technology - Fairground Rides
Our DT project this term has been to design, make and evaluate our own model fairground rides in pairs, which has also drawn on our learning around electronic circuits in Science.
PE - Tennis
We have all been enjoying practicing our skills and playing lots of inclusive games at the local club!
Being Safe Online
In our first computing lesson, we thought about how to be safe online and in computing lessons. We chose a method to present our top five ideas. Now we are ready to learn all about computer systems!
