Art session

All Hallows church 31.3.25

6D had a lovely afternoon expressing themselves by drawing round their hands and decorating each one in their unique style.

Intra class netball tournament

6D and 6MO competed in a netball tournament against each other after completing our PE unit. Both sets of teams showed good understanding of rules, tactics and positional play which resulted in some fantastic matches. 6D eventually won having gained a few more points but both teams played competitively and with a great team spirit.

Making guacamole in food technology

As part of our American food topic in DT, we made homemade guacamole. Most of us found it delicious after the taste test we did with Nachos! Some careful chopping, slicing and mixing skills were developed during the afternoon!

Classification Hook!
Can you work like a taxonomist and classify some sweets according to their characteristics!

Stencilling work in art

As part of our unit on the street artist Banksy, we have used craft knives to cut a stencil and quickly apply paint!

What to do when snow stops play….

A spped stacking indoor session replaced our outdoor football lesson as the playground was covered in snow in November! Great fun and very active still.

Gymnastics in PE

We have been working on counter balances and counter tension balances with in pairs. We had to use our partner’s weight to stay balanced by pushing against them or pulling away from them.

Band in a day

What a fantastic start to the new term! 6D enjoyed a music enrichment day where they were involved in a practical session with percussion instruments and introduced to basic rhythm notation, tempo and dynamics.
The day culminated in creating a band - rehearsing together, performing and reflecting on the performance. The children were fully engaged throughout the day and learnt so much!

Science investigations

We worked in pairs to plan an electrical experiment and carried out our fair tests together.

Safety Zone 2024

We completed 9 different workshops at the National Water sports centre learning how to keep ourselves safe in a range of circumstances - on the railways, on the roads, in the park, near water, on the buses and in the home. We learnt much from the visitors from the emergency services.

Making our fairground carousels

We worked with a partner to bring our design to life and construct a model working fairground ride for a particular age group!

Tennis lessons at our local club

We continue to improve our tennis skills with coach Amelia at Lady Tennis club as part of our PE curriculum.
