Guacamole

We had an amazing time making guacamole this week in D&T. We followed a recipe, which included avocado, red onion, tomato, coriander and lime, and then taste tested our creations.

Christmas ready

We had a great time decorating for Christmas. We put up lights and tinsel, created the longest paper chain ever seen and decorated the Christmas tree, all while singing Christmas songs as loud as we could.

Texturing paint

We added sawdust, sugar, salt and sand to paint to add texture. After swatching the various combinations, we painted the background for our pieces, ready to add their graffiti to it next lesson.

Creating stencils

This week, we have created our own graffiti stencils. The children did a fantastic job.

Brilliant balances

We worked on our counter balances and counter tension balances with our partner.

Fairground rides

We have had a fantastic few weeks creating fairground rides. The children have worked in pairs to design, make and evaluate their rides.

Chocolate taste testing

As a hook for our new English unit, 6C taste tested a variety of chocolate bars. We ranked them from worst to best, based on the taste, scent, texture and appearance. It’s safe to say, the English lesson went down a treat!

Tremendous tennis lessons

6C are really enjoying their weekly trips to the Lady Bay Tennis Club. They are learning lots of new skills, while building upon their knowledge from previous years. They will be competing at Wimbledon in no time at all!
