This week, we talked to the children about neuro-diversity. We asked the children what they thought neuro-diversity meant. We looked at some images and asked what the children could see within them. This was a clear way to show them how everyone’s brain works differently. We discussed different neuro-divergencies that people may have and how this can change the way people see things. We discussed Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, ADHD and autism. We also asked the children how this links to the British Values. They were brilliant at seeing how this would be linked to Tolerance and Mutual Respect as everyone should be treated the same and treated equally and also Individual Liberty. A really powerful assembly to raise awareness about neuro-diversity and a great one to get the children talking.
