Be Kind – Assembly this week

This week, our assembly was focussed on the Protected Characteristic of disability and the British Value of mutual respect. We were delighted to welcome Terry back into school to talk to the children. Unfortunately, Terry was on his own this time as his guide dog (Charlie) sadly passed away. Terry told the children about his journey over the last few months as he has had to get used to not having a dog. He told the children about his struggles as he has gone from walking 25-30 miles a week to walking 2-3 miles. He also spoke to them about his struggles with his mental health since the passing of Charlie and how grateful he was that he was still able to come and see the children at Lady Bay. Terry is a friend of the school and is why we have made the Guide Dogs one of our partner charities.
