At Lady Bay Primary School, we aim to provide our children with an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum.
Our Ofsted Report (June, 2017) stated that, “the breadth and quality of the curriculum are real strengths of the school” and that “the above average standards achieved in English and Mathematics apply equally across a wide range of other subjects”.
Our most recent Ofsted Report (November, 2022) recognised the continuous improvement that we strive for in our curriculum.
“Senior Leaders know their school well. They have ensured that their vision for the school is not just displayed, but is evident in the day-to-day operation of the school. They have secured improvements in the curriculum, teaching and middle leadership. They know what is working well and quickly address any emerging weaknesses.”
We have worked with all of our stakeholders including our pupils, parents (through ‘Curriculum Focus Groups’), Governors, staff and external School Improvement Partners (SIPs) to develop and embed our curriculum. It was evident that stakeholders wanted a curriculum that supported our children in becoming “the best versions of themselves they can be”, and one which prepares them for the next stage in their education.
Our school motto ‘Growing together: caring for ourselves, each other and the environment’ reflects our commitment to individual development and wellbeing; collaboration and respect for others and our responsibility to care for the environment.
