NETBALL TOURNAMENT

On Wednesday 22nd May, a team of Year 5 /6 girls took part in a Rushcliffe Family of Schools competitive tournament. They competed against teams from Edwalton, Abbey Road, St.Peters and PGPS and, after a fantastic afternoon of netball, finally finished third in the competition. It was great to see how they grew in confidence with every match and clearly enjoyed playing against other teams.

On Thursday 2nd May, some of our Year Six pupils took part in an Orienteering Festival at Rushcliffe Country Park. We completed one orienteering course and came first!!! Unfortunately though it then rained and hailed, but we laugh in the face of bad weather!!!

GIRLS FOOTBALL

Thursday 25thth April Girls High School

On Thursday after school, the girls’ football team were in action against Nottingham High School. This turned out to be a great game of football, played in a mixture of sunshine, hail, rain, thunder and some lightening in the distance!

Many players for Lady Bay were playing their very first game of football for the school and can be extremely proud of their performances.

The final score was a two all draw, reflective of a fantastic effort from both teams!

Saturday 27th April - Rushcliffe Tournament

An early start on a cold and blustery Saturday morning for the girls as they competed in the Rushcliffe schools tournament at St Peter's school in Ruddington. Confidence was high after being runners up in the previous tournament, but with only 8 minutes per match, it was frantic stuff and difficult to find any rhythm in the first two games. Needing to win our final three games to stand any chance of topping the group, we comfortably won two in succession before unluckily falling to defeat against St. Edmund Campion in our last game to finish third in the group. All the girls can be proud of their performances, and with a bit more luck in front of goal we could have gone much further!

GIRLS FOOTBALL

On Monday 4th March, Lady Bay Girls football team travelled to Candleby Lane for an important quarter final fixture. From the start Candleby Lane proved to be strong opposition and worried Lady Bay in the first five minutes of the game. Lady Bay however played brilliant passing football and were the stronger team for most of the game. Lady Bay were leading for most of the second half, thanks to a well worked goal from Lucy Thorne. Unfortunately Candleby Lane equalized with minutes to go to force extra time to be played. Lady Bay dominated the extra time and a fabulous goal from Grace Fawcett minutes from the end made Lady Bay worthy winners. A fantastic team performance from all the girls. Well done!

Lady Bay showed off their fancy footwork and skilful passing game, proving to be strong opposition. Lady Bay finished victorious winning the game by three goals to one. Two great goals came from Grace Fawcett and a stunning goal from Maia Jackson. The Nottingham team can be proud of their goal which was a fantastic drive from far out leaving the Lady Bay goal keeper with no chance.
